Training Modules​

A European Educational framework for
climate-resilient cultural heritage buildings
The ECOHERITAGE educational framework is organised into five complementary modules that provide participants with interdisciplinary knowledge and practical skills for climate-resilient heritage conservation.

The modules integrate engineering, architecture, sustainability, heritage conservation and risk management into a coherent learning pathway.

These five training modules will be available online as an open training package. 

Module 1
Eco-design and Social Needs in Retrofitting

Focuses on sustainable design principles, user needs and societal expectations when planning interventions in heritage buildings.

Module 2
Energy Efficiency and Economic Assessment

​Introduces strategies to improve energy performance while respecting heritage values, including economic evaluation of retrofit options.

Module 3
Nature-based and Waste-based Solutions

Picture
​Explores innovative sustainable materials, circular economy approaches and nature-based solutions compatible with historic buildings.

Module 4
Cultural Heritage Buildings and Climate Change​

Picture
​Examines climate impacts on heritage assets and presents adaptation strategies for long-term resilience.

Module 5
​​Risk Assessment in Heritage Buildings

​Provides methodologies for identifying hazards, assessing vulnerability and supporting decision-making for conservation planning
